Overview

We will be fixing a Breville pressure cooker that no longer heats.

Model: BPR650

Problem

"does not heat up"

Possible Solution

https://www.justanswer.com/small-appliance/nbzog-breville-fast-slow-pro-stopped-heating-power-works.html

The issue is most likely caused by faulty/damaged thermal cutoff/thermal fuse that needs replacing. This is the link where you can order the thermal cutoff https://www.ebay.com/itm/353145091937

The thermal fuse is located inside this line cable (red).

Watch this video on how to access the thermal fuse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zh7e140Q1EM. Before replacing, please check the continuity of the fuse. Use multimeter and set it to continuity or resistance checking. If the line is open, replace the fuse.

Parts

Disassembling the Bottom

Removing the bottom requires the removal of 2 Torx-10 screws. Once removed the bottom can be pried apart. Clips hold it in place.

Fix

Testing the thermal fuse showed no continuity. A replacement will be required.

We verified that the unit works if we bypass the fuse.

Fuse Specification

Soldering the thermal fuse

We will submerge the fuse in cold water while soldering to prevent the fuse from blowing.

Verify continuity after soldering.

Re-assemble and done!
