Process

Start by removing the Phillips screws marked with arrows. You do not need to remove the small screws around the top and sides of the monitor.

Here is the main board.

Here on the board we can see markings for 12v and 5v.

Removing the board and looking at the back shows a nice place to solder our new power leads.

Since we are going to be running this with voltages up to 14.4v DC, seemed right to add a DC to DC converter.

Here we are using a  Drok DC-DC Buck Voltage Converter 5A, Input 8-35V, Output 1.4-24V.

Later on, I will put a proper DC plug mounted to the side metal.
