Proposal

I actually like this direction much better than a full Wilderness clone. It keeps the clean look of the Limited XT while giving it a much more capable stance.

Here's what I would build.

Suspension

This is the biggest visual improvement.

Option 1 (my choice):

  • Ironman 4x4 ATS Suspension Lift (about 2")

Option 2

  • LP Aventure 2" Lift Kit

Option 3

  • ADF (Anderson Design & Fabrication) 2" Lift

The Ironman gives you new springs and shocks rather than just spacers, so it rides better on rough roads.

Wheels

Replace the factory 18" Limited wheels with:

  • 17x8
  • +35 to +38 offset
  • Matte black

Examples:

  • Method MR502
  • LP1
  • Sparco Gravel
  • Black Rhino Boxer

Tires

I'd go with:

235/65R17 Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail

Reasons:

  • Quiet on the highway
  • Great on gravel
  • Good in snow
  • Light weight
  • Excellent fuel economy compared to heavier all-terrain tires

Other good options:

  • Yokohama Geolandar G015
  • Toyo Open Country A/T III

Mud Flaps

  • Rally Armor
  • Rokblokz

These really complete the look.

Fog lights

Apply

  • Lamin-X yellow film

Very inexpensive but looks great.

Skid plates

If you're camping where you do:

  • Primitive Racing front skid plate
  • Primitive transmission skid plate

Worth every penny.

Badges

Optional

OEM Wilderness badge or no badge at all.

Personally I'd skip it.

Chrome delete (optional)

The Limited has chrome around the windows.

You can wrap it satin black.

Makes a surprisingly big difference.

Roof

I'd actually leave it stock.

No basket.

No platform.

You already tow the Boler and I think the clean roof looks better.

Things I would NOT change

❌ Wilderness bumpers

❌ Wilderness fender flares

❌ Bronze accents

❌ Roof basket

❌ Light bar

❌ Giant mud-terrain tires

Those items start making it look like you're trying to imitate a Wilderness. Your Limited has painted bumpers and a more refined look, which I think is a strength.

Approximate Budget (CAD)

ItemCost
Ironman ATS suspension$2,200–2,600
Wheels$1,000–1,400
Falken Wildpeak tires$1,000–1,300
TPMS transfer/install/balance$250–350
Alignment$150–200
Mud flaps$200–300
Yellow fog film$25–40
Primitive skid plates$600–900

Total: about $5,400–7,100 CAD, depending on the wheels and whether you install some of the parts yourself.

If this were my Outback

Since I know how you use it—camping with your Boler, logging roads around places like Silver Lake, and generally preferring exploration over technical off-roading—this would be my exact specification:

  • Ironman ATS 2" suspension
  • 17x8 Method MR502 matte black wheels
  • 235/65R17 Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail tires
  • Primitive Racing front and transmission skid plates
  • Rokblokz mud flaps
  • Yellow fog light film
  • Satin black chrome window trim wrap

I think that would look purposeful and understated: like a factory "Outback Adventure XT" rather than a Wilderness imitation, while retaining the upscale appearance that comes with the Limited XT.
