Considerations

Using Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) may be a better idea since it is a drop in replacement for Lead Acid. Charge Voltage for a 4S pack would be 14.4v (3.6v/cell).

Our battery has the following dimensions:

Length5.94 in / 150.9 mm
Width2.56 in / 65 mm
Height

3.7 in / 94 mm

150/26 = 5.7

94/26 = 3.6

We could fit about 15 batteries in the space of our current lead acid battery.

Conclusion

Will leave it for now. If I had some good LiFePO4 cells kicking around I may see how many I could fit. The ones I have are old and have a max capacity of about 1500 mAh.
