Installation
- Install 1x3 kiln dried furring strips on the studs
- Install weather sealing around all windows and doors
- Install Metal flashing above windows and where water drainage is needed.
- Install at least 8" above the ground
- Use metallic starter strip to ensure proper ventilation and prevent rodent and insect infestation
- If you need to cut a board at 90 degrees, then you will need to apply touch up paint to the cut end
- If you have to make a joint cut, make a 45 degree cut at both ends and apply touch up paint.
- Attach at the furring strip.
- Use recommended staples and nails only and use the maibec stapler guide if possible.
- Used stained maibec nails where tongue and groove system removed.
- A common way to finish the wall is to add a molding and butt up the siding to it leaving a 1/2" spacing between the molding and the soffit.
