- Turn off switch
- Remove shade
- Unscrew base screw
- Attempt to pull wire to get some slack. If no slack is available, you will need to remove the wire cover to help the wires along.
- Remove wires from socket by twisting the wire.
- Remove base from spindle if the base is a different size. (this is our case)
- Remove base from new socket and screw onto spindle.
- Push wires into new socket.
- Screw in base screws
- Attach shade by adding a metal spacer/washer in front of the socket ring.
- Tighten socket ring using a specialized tool or a set of long nose pliers.
- Turn on switch to see the light!
