Fixes
Levelling the Doors
Having the doors just right is important since it will ensure that the doors close properly.
From the front to the back, there should be a 1/4 inch difference in levelness (higher in the front)... Adjust by the two adjuster foot pegs (front on floor).
Use a 1/4" socket and a ratchet to turn the adjuster foot pegs screws until the tops of the french doors are even with each other.
To adjust the doors:
- Remove the grill
- Adjust the two adjuster foot pegs using a 1/4" bolt driver. Check for level.
- Ensure Doors at top of fridge are even with each other and door closed properly and door's hinge flap is operating correctly.
Freezer is Cold but Refrigerator is Warm
Things to check (Top 6):
- Dirty Condenser Coils
- Malfunctioning Condenser Fan Motor
- Defective Evaporator Fan Motor
- Faulty Start Relay or Capacitor
- Evaporator Frosted Over
- Malfunctioning Temperature Control Board
Observations
- Freezer is at temp(0F) but fridge is warm(57F).
Actions
- Checked the condenser fan and it didn't appear to be running.
- Removed and tested it by applying 120v to the fan contacts. Seems to work fine.
- Replaced and it has been working fine since.
Questions
- Is the fan working intermittently?
- Could there be a thermostat/control issue?
- Is it possible the door was not closing properly and the french door's door flap was not engaged?
It Happened Again
- Checked condenser fan and it was working.
- Not the door flap
- Cycled the power and no change
- Turned off for 30-60 minutes and it started up and cooled!
- Could be:
- defroster
- defrost timer
- damper stuck
- evaporator fan? (heard it, so unlikely unless the fan blades are messed up)
Ice Maker Repair
The ice make arm was missing so I made a new one... Time will tell if it works.
Who really makes the ice maker?
