Installation

  • Install 1x3 kiln dried furring strips on the studs

  • Install weather sealing around all windows and doors

  • Install Metal flashing above windows and where water drainage is needed.

  • Install at least 8" above the ground

  • Use metallic starter strip to ensure proper ventilation and prevent rodent and insect infestation 

  • If you need to cut a board at 90 degrees, then you will need to apply touch up paint to the cut end

  • If you have to make a joint cut, make a 45 degree cut at both ends and apply touch up paint.
  • Attach at the furring strip.

  • Use recommended staples and nails only and use the maibec stapler guide if possible.

  • Used stained maibec nails where tongue and groove system removed.

  • A common way to finish the wall is to add a molding and butt up the siding to it leaving a 1/2" spacing between the molding and the soffit.

  • Caulking
